LIFE AS I KNOW IT By Lydia ( Joy ) Rachel Stone
LIFE AS I KNOW IT By Lydia ( Joy ) Rachel Stone
Picture a happy little girl.
Let's call her Joy.
Joy had a wonderful childhood,
but darkness was on the horizon.
Joy's friend, Purity, left her.
Her other friend, Prudence, was soon to follow suit.
Joy was left all alone in the tumultuous waters of teen-hood.
That was the first strike: abandonment.
The second strike was Joy's own purity.
Joy had lost prudence and purity, her closest friends,
leaving Joy open to dark influences,
her third and fourth strike: Pills and Impurity.
Pills were the gateway drug to the Demon possession.
The fifth strike.
The demons came to her in droves, pushing Joy to do more and more sinful things.
She began to spend time alone in her bed, under the blankets.
She started spending time on the computer, viewing impure texts and images.
Joy ingested dark images on her bright screen over many, many years.
Her eyes became clouded and a mental vale covered her vision.
Joy sought darker and darker addictions.
Joy's heart became a dry, desolate land of darkness.
A desert. A wasteland of vile filth.
Joy was no longer filled with joy.
Joy became filled with lust.
Demons of Lust, Vanity, Pride, and Envy came knocking
on the door of Joy's heart, soul, and mind.
She became a wounded animal.
Then the Demons of Bipolar entered her soul:
Strife, Wickedness, Self-Pity, Pain, Shame, Guilt, and Greed.
These Demons that created Anxiety, Depression, and Mania were Joy's new friends.
Joy was trapped in an endless cycle of depression, mania, and anxiety.
She was trapped! Oh, she was trapped!
Her worn out small heart said, “Oh me, oh my. What shall I do? How can I be set free?”
Joy tried to kill herself with the Pills, seeking escape.
She found Hope before the Pills killed her.
Hope stopped Joy from dying. Hope became her new friend.
Hope shone it's life on her shriveled, broken soul.
Life shone Through to Joy's heart.
Hope led her to Jesus. Jesus became her best friend.
Is he your friend? Will he save you too?
If you want to be saved from Your Demons, say this prayer to God out loud:
“Jesus, be my God. Save me. Forgive me. Heal me. Send someone to help me. Amen.”
“Prudence is a fountain of life to the prudent, but folly brings punishment to fools.”
